Caring for Your Nandi Knitwear

At Nandi, we take pride in crafting our garments using 100% natural wool fibers, and with proper care, your knitwear can last a lifetime. Follow these simple steps to ensure your piece remains as beautiful and functional as the day it was made:

Washing

  • Less is More: Wool naturally repels odors and dirt, so frequent washing is unnecessary. Simply airing your garment after use often does the trick.

  • Hand Wash:

    • Use cold or lukewarm water (no more than 30°C) to avoid shrinking.

    • Choose a gentle detergent made specifically for wool. Avoid detergents with enzymes that can damage the fibers.

    • Soak your garment gently without rubbing or wringing. Rinse with water at the same temperature to remove all soap.

  • Machine Wash:

    • Select the "wool" or "delicate" cycle on your washing machine.

    • Use cold water (max 30°C) and a laundry bag to protect the garment from friction.

Drying

  • Press, Don’t Twist: After washing, gently press the garment between two towels to remove excess water. Avoid twisting or wringing.

  • Flat Drying: Lay the piece flat on a dry towel, reshape it to its original form, and let it dry away from direct sunlight or heat sources. Do not hang, as this may distort its shape.
